Dear Jason:
I cannot believe it has been a year since you left us. Not a day goes by that at least a dozen of your friends around the country don’t think of you, laugh about something you said or did or remember a piece of advice you gave us. Last night after training, we sat around and drank Green Tea to your memory, even Jack, who hates Green Tea – we shared some tears and some laughs.
You were the one who got me to listen to country music and I cannot help but think about your life every time I hear the Tim McGraw song “Live Like You Were Dying”. You loved that song when it came out and would sing with gusto along with the radio. I can’t help but see how you embodied that spirit in all you did. You lived more in 25 years than many people do in 50.
Your friends miss you, your family misses you and your dogs miss you. The “Green Team” hopes you are proud of what we have continued to do this past year and some of the achievements we have made. We want to make you proud.
I think you know how much I miss you. You will forever be the son who made me proud, and my best friend. I still have much to do here, but find some comfort in knowing that I will see you again someday.
Love,
MOM
